TBR Challenge

Cora’s TBR Challenge Check-In

It’s the last day of 2019, fellow readers! Did you complete your TBR Challenge?

I am one book away from making my revised goal this year, so you can guess what I’ll be doing for the rest of the day 😉  Bo has been cheering me on, too…as long as I can hold my book or ereader with one hand and pet him with the other!

Happy holidays, and happy reading!

UPDATE: I made it! I didn’t get to spend the day reading, but ended up completing the challenge with a novella that I’d purchased nine years ago, which I thought was fitting.

I read 14 TBR books (meeting my revised goal) and 36 books over all (meeting my Goodreads Challenge goal). I also purchased 37 books in 2019, so I came out nearly even in intake vs outgoing. This is the first year that’s happened since I started keeping track 🙂

  1. Hi Cora – I was thinking of you today! How are you feeling? Well, I exceeded my GR goal of 150 and read 160. I was dismal in my lofty Cora’s TBR goals. I had revised it to 73. Of that, I read 12. Eek! Many rereads and new books were read. I went to 3 author signings and accumulated more. I also won a bunch. I have slowed down in my local and Amazon purchases, though. I have also swapped some and donated some to the library. Here’s to better commitment next year. Sounds like you made and kept reasonable goals, so that’s probably what I should do. Happy New Year!

    1. Reading new books keeps them off your TBR, though, so you’ve still accomplished the goal of the challenge 😉 I’m hanging in there–had to cut back on a lot of stuff this month and I’m trying to rest more while I’ve got some time off from the day job. Hopefully Bo doesn’t run me ragged while I’m home!

      1. I like your theory. Hope you get to rest up. I had last week off, but my daughter was home from college & her boyfriend came to stay, and my son & his girlfriend came to stay for a few days. I felt like I was constantly cooking and cleaning dishes. It was good to have everyone here, though. The house is now so quiet. I’m sure Bo is loving having his mommy to himself.
