We’re nearly through the first quarter of the year, fellow readers! How is your TBR reading going?
Once my RITA scores were turned in (you can click here to see the finalists in each category if you’re interested) I took a break from reading for a couple of weeks. It was only the other day I picked up a book again to read for pleasure, and it hasn’t been in my possession long enough to qualify for this challenge. So officially that makes March another month where I didn’t gain any ground. And I’m up to 21 books purchased since January 1, so I’m actually losing ground!
I’m not too worried, though. The bulk of my time has been spent writing–I have a short story and a novel coming out with a fantastic group of authors in July. As soon as those are done and released, I plan to read and read and read 🙂
I thought I left a comment before, but I guess I didn’t hit enter. GR says I am at 25 books. I have been rereading some comfort reads & not counting them. As for our challenge here, I am more than halfway through The Stolen Mackenzie Bride, the last of the Mackenzies & McBrides so far. It is taking me awhile because I am feeling weird about reading about an ancestor of the other Mackenzies, knowing he was long dead. The other thing is that there is a lot of political stuff, which isn’t my thing. On the other hand, Malcolm is very much like Daniel in temperament, which will make Carol happy. We love Daniel!

I remember Julia Quinn saying she didn’t want to do a book for Violet Bridgerton for the same reason–that it would be weird knowing her husband dies young, even if they were happy together for a while.
You did leave a comment earlier, but for some reason WordPress asked me to approve it first 🙂

Oh, I guess I said pretty much the same thing both times! I haven’t read the Julia Quinn book & wasn’t sure about that either – Because of Miss Bridgerton is about his sister, I think. If he is in it, I will be sad.

Edmund wasn’t in Because of Miss Bridgerton. He was mentioned once or twice because yeah, the heroine is his sister. But if he was involved more than that I’ve forgotten it 🙂

Sharlene, I’m behind reading the Mackenzies & McBrides as I need to read The Stolen Mackenzie Bride and A Mackenzie Clan Gathering to get up to date with the series. It’s good to hear that Malcolm is like Daniel.

Oh, the Mackenzie Clan Gathering. I didn’t read that yet, either! Good to know about Bridgertons.

I’ve read 10 books to date and should finish The Bedding Proposal by Tracy Anne Warren by the end of March which will increase that number to 11 books. So, I’m on track to read at least 3 books a month. However, Goodreads tells me that I have added 4 more books this month.

One-Click strikes again! 🙂 I had the same problem!

LOL. I don’t count one-click as books. Only the ones I add to my physical shelf. I won a book from GR – Ready, Set Rogue by Manda Collins. I will try to read that by the end of the month, too. I bought The Bedding Proposal. Heard good things.
