Happy May fellow readers! The weather is heating up here in Southeast Michigan (the forecast is calling for near 90F this weekend!). Has your reading been hot?
Mine has been mostly of the textbook variety, so not so hot. On the bright side, I’m halfway through my classes and doing well in both of them. I also have a four-day weekend coming up, and while I have a lot of schoolwork to do, I am also pledging to read for pleasure at least one hour a day during my little holiday. Wish me luck!
I did get a little audiobook action at the day job this week, so my world has not been entirely fiction-less. I’m listening to Diana Gabaldon’s Dragonfly in Amber, though Goodreads informed me that it’s been about ten months since I last listened. Thank goodness I’ve already read the book, or I wouldn’t have the slightest idea what was happening in it 😀
Hi Cora! Glad you are doing so well in school! I am up to 67 books. I still haven’t finished the Bridgertons or Mackenzies & McBrides, or started any other of the older series I hope to get to. It is concert season for my high school-age daughter, so lots of that stuff going on, and she marches in the Memorial Day parade! Enjoy the long week-end! I am expecting tomorrow to be slow at work, so should get some reading done. 😉

Yay for reading at work! Once I’m done with school, I swear that’s what I’m going to do with my down time at the day job. Have fun with the music events! Hopefully the weather will be good for the parade 😀

My new discovery is that if I purchased a book from Amazon, they will sell me the Kindle book for 99cents. So, if I am not comfortable with a book on my lap at work, I put it up on my computer (Cloud reader on Amazon.) And I can read the paperback while sitting on the couch later.

I wish I could report that I have dramatically reduced the TBR pile. But ….

Me too. The last couple of years my reading time in general seems to be declining, while my TBR pile is growing. Luckily, there’s always next month 🙂

Well, my reading count is going up, but the TBR has continued to increase. Hmmmmm…..

Cora, it’s much cooler here, between 67 and 69F, which suits me because I’m not a hot weather person at all. I’m pleased to hear that you are doing well with your classes.
I’ve managed to read 4 books so far this month and I hopefully I should finish the one I’m currently reading by 31st May. I haven’t really made any dent in my TBR pile because I’ve added 7 new books this month!

That sounds like wonderful weather! I’m not much for hot and humid, either. But you have the same problem as me–buying faster than you can read 😀
