TBR Challenge Check In

Four months down, fellow readers! Are you on track?

I’m hanging in there, through the help of the Historical Romance Book Club (We’re finishing up Midnight by Beverly Jenkins this month) and some good (but short!) novellas. Goodreads says I’m on track for my overall reading goal, and I’m about a third of the way through my TBR goal. That’s better than I expected to be this time of year.

My boss at the day job has decided to dump a bunch of work on me right before I’m scheduled to be furloughed and the deadline for my current WIP is fast approaching, so I suspect I won’t do a ton of reading over the next few weeks. And I seem to be acquiring books at an alarming rate again (40 already this year!). But that’s okay. I’m just going to go with it for the time being and try not to stress too much 🙂

And now, a gratuitous picture of Bo blinking for everyone who needs a smile today:

  1. Hi Cora! Bo is a cutie! Sorry you are getting furloughed. I’m working from home, for now. It’s a little nerve wracking. I’ve been buying a lot of books, too. Also, still doing a lot of rereads, but I have tackled a few on this years TBR challenge. 30 books read so far this year, not counting rereads. 4 are part of my challenge, of books I have won or authors who are supposed to be at the Romancing the Gold Coast conference in Oct. If it happens. Glad you are still well. All still OK here on LI. Just my husband & I.

    1. Glad to hear you’re doing okay! I can totally see re-reading, especially now when sometimes all you want is comfort 🙂

I’m honestly looking forward to my furlough a little bit. I live in an area where some people are angry they have to wear masks in public (so they don’t wear one) and are risking lives to buy grass seed. I’m perfectly happy staying at home, reading, writing, hanging with Bo, and staying safe for a while 🙂

      1. Good for you. Here in NY, masks are mandatory in public places. My sister just got furloughed, down in Jacksonville, Fl. She feels the same way that you do. She’s not a reader, though. At least not romance or fiction. She has a cat, though!
